CI Projects | University of Melbourne, Medical History Museum Relocation & Bouverie Learning Hub

The transformation is complete at 233 Bouverie Street, where the Medical History Museum has been carefully relocated and integrated alongside a refreshed teaching and learning hub.

This specialist relocation and refurbishment project brings together heritage character, collection care requirements and contemporary education environments — all supported by upgraded building services and technology infrastructure.

Highlights of the project include:

🔸 New mechanical systems providing fresh air delivery and stable conditions for museum collections
🔸 Electrical upgrades including new main switchboard, emergency and display lighting, and power distribution
🔸 Enhanced data and communications networks to support teaching spaces, museum operations and AV integration
🔸 Updated fire systems including new smoke detection and Fire Indicator Panel
🔸 Security and access control upgrades including electronic door access and CCTV adjustments
🔸 Careful services coordination within a live research environment and heritage context
