Select the most energy efficient services and appliances. Gas space heaters, ducted heaters and hot water services, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers all carry Energy Rating labels. When choosing between alternative models, consider both the initial cost and the ongoing running costs over the life of the appliances.

Achieve 7 stars energy rating by using the correct insulation. The most important factor you should consider when looking for the best insulation is the R-Value of the insulation product. For cooler climates such as Melbourne we recommend at least R6.0 for roof, R4.0 for ceiling, R2.5 for walls, R2.5 moisture resistant underneath floors for single storey and R4.0 acoustic insulation between floors of a double storey.
Also, don't forget to use reflective roof sarking and ventilation whirlybird.
