Debuted in 2006, the Air Jordan 4 “Lightning,” has been rumored to resurface time and time again since 2010, but is now making its official return for its 15th anniversary.

The highly anticipated release takes on a tour yellow, white and cool dark gray colorway with hints of jet black. A vibrant yellow nubuck upper wraps around the shoe with dark gray details holding the black shoelace netting and is finished off with a white midsole and dark gray outsole.

The rare colorway was originally released in highly limited quantities along with the “Thunder” variation, with both inspired by the seasonal strip of Michael Jordan’s former motorcycle racing team.

Having already been revealed via on-foot images of the Air Jordan 4 as well as officially through the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, the theme is now being applied to the classic Air Jordan 3. According to Sneaker Files, the Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette is having its forthcoming makeover target a release for the latter part of Fall. And while the images posted here ahead are only but a mock-up it’s quite possible that from a visual standpoint, the shoes may carry similar color-blocking stlye to the iconic “Black Cement” by carrying black base layers and grey cement overlays, but will be altered with purple accents infused to the rear midsole molds, lace loops, and embroidered tongue logos.
