Getting injured sucks, but it’s not a death sentence for your progress.

I know this all too well.

Your body will heal with time: as long as you make smart choices.

Obsessing over what you can’t do won’t speed things up, but focusing on what you can do will keep you moving forward.

1️⃣ Train what isn’t hurt.

If your shoulder’s busted, hit lower body.

If your knee’s cooked, cycle instead of running.

If your back’s fried, go for walks.

Sitting around doing nothing just slows recovery.

(and if you can’t tell from the photos - leads to weight-gain)

2️⃣ Don’t rely on training/exercise/movement for happiness.

If lifting or cardio is your only outlet, you’re setting yourself up for a hard time when injuries happen.

(Which they will - because that’s life)

Have other hobbies: read, learn, write - challenge your mind and become creative.

My identity was so wrapped up in exercise, that when I ruptured my ACL - my mental health went down the drain.

I turned to alcohol to make myself feel better, and that only made things worse.

3️⃣ Mobility training won’t prevent injuries.

Strength training, done at the right volume and load, is what actually builds resilience.

Mobility work can be useful in rehab, but it’s not the magic fix people think it is.

(It’s me - I was people)

I used to prescribe it all the time for myself and clients, but after completing my masters and working in the rehab space: I’ve learned a better way.

4️⃣ Load management is everything.

Sleep, stress, steps, nutrition: these control your recovery way more than any special rehab exercise ever will.

Your body heals itself - you just have to give it the right conditions to do so.

👉 Remember: injuries are temporary.

How you handle them determines whether you come back stronger or just stay stuck.

Setbacks always set the stage for a comeback 💪
