"I just need to be more motivated..." This is something I hear a lot, and it's not true. You're plenty motivated. Motivation is the desire to change something - whether that's putting the heater on because you're cold, eating because you're hungry, or getting that work done that you've been putting off.

Here's the issue - motivation isn't enough for ADHD brains. Wanting something, no matter how desperately, doesn't mean you can do it easily. And that feels like failure and laziness. We put a moral value on motivation that really shouldn't be there. Your ability to complete an arbitrary task does not dictate your value.

How do you overcome your "motivation issues"?
