"I just need to be more motivated..." This is something I hear a lot, and it's not true. You're plenty motivated. Motivation is the desire to change something - whether that's putting the heater on because you're cold, eating because you're hungry, or getting that work done that you've been putting off.
Here's the issue - motivation isn't enough for ADHD brains. Wanting something, no matter how desperately, doesn't mean you can do it easily. And that feels like failure and laziness. We put a moral value on motivation that really shouldn't be there. Your ability to complete an arbitrary task does not dictate your value.
How do you overcome your "motivation issues"?

Heard of executive functioning but don't actually know what it means in real terms? Check out this post.
Explaining Executive Functioning When I asked ADHDers for their top issues, executive functioning came out on top.
