Today I was lucky enough with to observe the Asherman’s surgery legend, Prof Thierry Vancaillie operate in theatre . Asherman’s syndrome is a condition where scar tissue builds up in the uterus, usually after a d&c. It can be associated with infertility , recurrent miscarriage and implantation failure with ivf. Treatment is a combination of meticulous technique , minimally invasive surgery, use of hyaluronic acid, estrogen and platelet rich plasma to treat this complex condition.
