Narangba Timbers is a timber merchant located on Brisbane's northside. Specializing in fencing timber, boutique cuts, and hardwoods. This well-known company is one of the biggest independent timber merchants in Brisbane and is very well stocked. So much so that they needed more cantilever racking to hold more stock.
They called BOS Storage to discuss storing timber in racking that was outdoors. Being exposed to the elements BOS storage proposed that they use galvanized cantilever racks, which would be a perfect solution for storing hardwood out in the open.
On a newly poured concrete base, BOS Storage supplied 4.8m high upright, with 4 arm levels on each column. The Cantilever bases were Double-sided allowing storage on both sides of the upright, which is a much more cost-efficient way to use cantilever racks. Each arm was 1500mm deep and rated to 750kg UDL per arm. Spaced every 1500mm between columns centers the cantilever rack system is truly a great design for storing long products.

Bos Storage Systems met with management on site to discuss how to obtain more stock in the existing space. Some stock was heavy and bulky and could not be stacked on top of each other.
Bos’s sales representative came up with several solutions to accommodate the bulky items and allow for odd shaped sized skids to be stored safely. A deeper than standard Selective Racking fitted with steel shelf mesh decks catered for the oversize bulky items, allowing storage of multiple pallets in height.
Double Deep Racking was then retrofitted to the existing Racking giving storage of two (2) pallets in-depth for every level of Racking. d safely. The increase to storage exceeded expectations with the existing capacity boosted from six hundred (600) pallet positions to one thousand three hundred (1300)
All works were carried out whilst the customer was operating, allowing for very little disruption and impact to their business. Needless to say, the installation was delivered on time, on budget with a very happy customer!

Pallet Racking Pick Solution

This project was to integrate an e-commerce pick solution within an existing Bulk Storage System. The solution was to accommodate fifteen thousand, (15,000) SKU locations within the existing area storage. The requirement was to supply and install the picking solution on time & on budget with little hindrance on the company’s productivity. On top of the pick solution and number of 4 meters, long workbenches were supplied for staff to consolidate and pick orders on. The benches supplied were a combination of steel shelf mesh bottom level and timber for the top level.
