The Tabletop Lumbersmith

Wanted to share a present for my fathers birthday. This was a present that was designed by all my siblings and mother and given to me to work on to bring new life into my fathers old guitar. This Shelby guitar is almost 50 years old and has been crawled on (and cracked) by all my siblings and myself as we grew up, so it has great significance to my family, particularly to my dad.
I made laser cutouts of all our totems set onto the body of the guitar and joined by swirling lines. I then put strip led lights with a dimmer switch into the body of the guitar so it can glow through both the totems and the lines so it creates a magical glow!

My father was truly overwhelmed. It was one of the few times I saw him just so speechless, and I am very proud of my family for coming up with such a touching idea as a gift.

I continued down my resin journey with a little project of modifying a previous coffee table build.
I decided to add a rainbows crayon river and seal it all up with epoxy and overall I was very happy with the result, though in future I will take more care in making sure I fill any little holes in the wood before pouring or add extra resin to avoid the pothole finish haha 😆
