Compliance Vs Cooperation.
What is the concept?
In the earlier (and unfortunately still in some cases today), it is said “show the horse who is boss”.
That is compliance. Making a horse do you what want through fear of a negative experience.

Cooperation is very different with a beautiful outcome. This is when the horse shows you their insecurities or fear with the HUMAN showing guidance and understanding to help the horse reduce adrenaline to become calm and quiet through the humans assistance.

Remember horses (and humans) still have primitive FFF, fight flight flee responses.
For horses, it’s about how much you can trust your partner, which is us, to say it’s ok, I will keep you safe. We become the safe place .

This is all done in training on the ground prior to riding.
I can not express enough that ground work is absolutely essential to developing an amazing trusting and SAFE partner.

I do not offer a quick fix or that my training fixes all horses issues unless, you as the human charges to give confidence to your horse.

If the human doesn’t adapt and change, the horse will continue with the same issues.

I want my horses to continue to show their expression and nature, not shut it down due to “compliance” training

Love what you have and understand what your horse is telling you. They are trying to have a conversation without words and we must listen
