Fun With A Box

So much creativity and imagination using a simple cardboard box during play. Look how something as simple as a box can become so many different things through children’s imagination💭

Bilked used the box as a bed, 🛏️ others imagined it as a house, while some turned it into a car. The children enjoyed drawing on the box and expressing their own ideas in different ways.

We spent our morning outside where we continued to explore bugs, today we used jars to catch the bugs so we could have a closer look at the insects. As the children searched for insects, they carefully worked together to first identify what the insect was and decide if it was safe to catch in the jar.

Look at our Kindy 2 children immersing themselves in nature, continuing their exploration of bugs and our vegetable garden. This hands-on experience supported their curiosity about the natural world and encouraged a deeper connection with living things in their environment.

We were fortunate that Miss Elisha identified the plant as basil. She explained to the children that when the flowers at the top of the basil plant dry out, they produce seeds that can be collected and planted to grow new basil plants. This supported the children’s understanding of life cycles, plant growth, and sustainability, while also introducing early scientific concepts such as observation, cause and effect, and reproduction in plants.
