The proposed Mackay Port Access Road would revoke critical fish habitat areas and clear over 20 hectares of mangroves at a cost of 1,5 billion dollars of Taxpayers money!

Such a great morning out door knocking in North Mackay today!

We spoke with many residents who would literally have the proposed Mackay Port Access Road in their backyard. Many were surprised to learn about the project, and many shared concerns about its impacts on mangroves, wildlife and the local community.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped to chat, ask questions and share their views, and to the volunteers who joined us on the day!

The conversation is growing, and so is the community standing up for Mackay’s mangroves.
