Five minutes in the door, and it feels like I never left.

I guess that's the magic of home.

Having a home base, no matter where it is or with whom, is super important to feel safe and certain in a chaotic world.

I remember returning home at the very beginning of my recovery through burnout right back in 2014, automatically feeling at ease and better. I didn't know why then, but I certainly do now.

This return home is very different. This time I'm helping others avoid burnout.

Working with individuals and organisations to realise, find and create opportunities and places of psychological, emotional and physical safety.

Places to come back to when everything feels out of control and uncertain.

Will you join me on this adventure?

Over 5 years of QLD fun.

Just a few images and videos of my time working and travelling through .

Clinically as a nurse it's been great. First working as a clinical nurse and then progressing into a nurse educator and CNC role I've had the opportunity to see another side of nursing, healthcare and leadership. These experiences have been great though what I'll hold onto is that this is where fwards was released.

This time will always hold a special place in my heart, but as staff retention becomes crucial it's now time for me to spread my wings.

It's taken a few days into the new year to take the time to stop and pause, but as we get ready for another massive year, there's no better way than to fire up the Fwards app and reflect on what has been a defining year for Fwards.

A year full of happiness, challenges, opportunities and growth, the fwards app found its wings and grew into an application that all public health nurses can download and use to manage shift work. Making us super proud 😊.

We also had the opportunity to release the www.burnoutnomore.me course, helping individuals work through the complexities of burnout and grow through the challenges thrown at us in work and home.

It hasn't been all roses and chocolates, as we've certainly faced many challenges in developing and releasing a nurse-led application and business. Finding a way to keep the lights on and the bank manager happy continues to be a challenge. However, we are determined to continue supporting our frontline nurses working tirelessly in these difficult times.

We wish you much success in your 2022 aspirations! We are forever grateful for your support and guidance if you've downloaded the app or attended the Burnout No More course.

Our objective for 2022 is to see the Burnout No More course and the Fwards app join forces to support teams of nurses to flourish in this great time of uncertainty and opportunity.

Do you have any grand aspirations for 2022?

Much respect and admiration,

Fwards team

Join us in supporting valuable fundraising for the Mackay Base Hospital foundation.

This money goes directly to supporting necessary hospital equipment purchases for the local community.

Our founder Athol has stepped back into the scrubs as an educator and is loving every minute of teaching back on the floor.

We'd love it if you could join our donation and help the Mackay community get access to the very best healthcare can provide. Find the link in the comments.
