It was with sadness that I noted the passing of American Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

She is one of the best examples of that wonderful quote from the movie,"Mulan" - The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.

Despite facing numerous setbacks such as the premature death of her mother the day before Ruth graduated high school and her husband of two years, Marty's, diagnosis with testicular cancer, as well as acts of gender-based discrimination throughout her education and career she never gave up the fight for equality.

If you were to look up the word trailblazer in the dictionary I'm sure you'd see RBG's face!

For those who would love to learn more about this inspiring woman, watch the 2018 movie; On The Basis Of S*x, or batter yet book to see a documentary/movie about her at the The Star Theatre, Launceston this coming Friday night (02 October).
