Are you ready to give it your all? To never give up? To push harder than ever before? How great is your determination? If your heart isn't in something you won't give it your all and you will continue to fail and wonder why. Until you can truly commit, it will always be a half hearted effort, no matter how hard you are trying. Start making your goals reality. Stop sitting down and thinking about it. Get up and do something about because no one else will do it for you and it won't come knocking on your door. You have to want it for yourself! Do it for yourself, not for someone else!

The two most common deadlift techniques are sumo and conventional. Both will improve strength, speed, rate of force development, flexibility, core stability, soft tissue and bone strength. A few positives for sumo deads are:
1. Less range of motion
2. Greater carryover to wide stance squats
3. Less mobility required in terms of ankle and thoracic mobility
4. Less shear force on lumbar spine
And something to think about is that it is harder on your hips. It is common that people will complain of severe anterior hip pain which could possibly be a symptom of femoral anterior glide syndrome and can sometimes be helped by focusing on glute activation exercises.
To decide between sumo and conventional you need to practice both and go from there. There are benefits for doing both and you just have to decide what you want to get out of it. More to come on deadlifts....
