Jazz Singers' Jam Night ~ Thursday 4th June, 2026
Last night was the first Jam back in the Jazz Club and some interesting variety from the 11 singers, and a couple of horn players joining in on the last two numbers. The house band was the guitar based Paul Henderson Trio with Samuel Vincent and Stephen Fischer on the kit.
The singers in order were Heather Fitzpatrick, Pam Hodgson, Sunny Vicars, Jane Michele from the Sunny Coast, Moseara Kinharbourr, Naomi Doessel, Host Ingrid James, Guada Alvarez, Sara Louise from Toowoomba, Penny See-See and Michael Barber with Nathan Parker on tenor sax, followed by an ‘all-in’ jam with Harry Hales on tenor...

Classic Jazz: 4MBS Festival of Classics ~ Thursday, 21st May 2026

This Classic Jazz collaboration between 4MBS Festival of Classics and Brisbane Jazz Club brought together the acclaimed multi-cello ensemble MoltiCelli, led by distinguished cellist Gwyn Roberts, with renowned collaborative pianist Jenni Flemming and award-winning jazz vocalist Ingrid James for a rich and expressive program featuring voice, piano, solo cello and cello ensemble featuring the cellists Trish Dean, Jewel Yang, Gwyn Roberts, Patrick Earls, Marcus Kilian and Matthew Farrell.

The Second Set of this Classic Jazz collaboration presented the vibrant energy of the Queensland Youth Orchestra Big Band, directed by accomplished saxophonist and educator Bohdan Davison. Showcasing some of the State’s most talented young musicians, the 20-piece ensemble premiered an exciting new arrangement of Ravel’s ‘Bolero’, along with beloved standards from the Great American Songbook. They finished the night off with some of the most celebrated jazz vocal numbers and invigorated the audience with their percussionist conducting them through Nat King Cole's "L.O.V.E." - in case anyone was wondering about what was going on in that second last image…
