Today would have been what would have been Ohtsuka Tadahiko (June 10 1940 – November 27 2012) o-sensei's 86th birthday.

In the spirit of keeping his memory and achievements and contributions alive I recorded the video linked below and also I am posting a seniors group photo taken when Ohtsuka sensei did a tour of Sydney & Melbourne in 1986.

In the video I thought I would share a couple of things, one of which regarding Tensho-Rokkishu kata may only have limited appeal but the other should be of real interest from any serious Karate-ka not already familiar with the Uechi ryu style breathing Ohtsuka sensei valued and talked about a number of times.
