Earlier this month we had the incredible opportunity to introduce Australian of the Year and Astronaut, Katherine Bennell-Pegg to some of our favourite places on the Eyre Peninsula.

Engaging with students from Port Lincoln to Penong, Katherine shared how bold ambitions, space exploration, and real-world innovation are shaping new opportunities across regional South Australia, Australia's gateway to space 🚀🛰️

Thank you to Katherine, the South Australian Space Industry Centre, the Australian Space Agency and the Australia Day Council of South Australia for partnering with us to excite and inspire young people in the EP to dream big ✨

And to all the schools and education partners for their support. Lincoln Gardens Primary School , St Joseph's School Port Lincoln, Navigator College - Port Lincoln, Penong Primary School, Koonibba Aboriginal School, Ceduna Area School, Children's University and Uni Hub Spencer Gulf

Southern Launch continues to demonstrate its position as the global leader for orbital re-entry services with the safe return of Varda Space Industries W-6 capsule to the Koonibba Test Range.

The W‑6 re‑entry is the fourth capsule to land at the Koonibba Test Range in just over 12 months, putting high-cadence orbital re‑entries on a path to becoming as routine as space launch.

Working closely with the Koonibba Community Aboriginal Corporation, the Koonibba Test Range plays a critical role in establishing Australia as a world‑leading destination for commercial spacecraft re-entries.

CEO of the Koonibba Community Aboriginal Corporation, Corey McLennan said. "The Koonibba community takes immense pride in every mission that returns to our lands. Our children are growing up watching spacecraft return from orbit right on their doorstep, and that is inspiring the next generation to dream bigger than ever before."

Wow, what an event! Thank you to everyone who came by to see us at the Defence and Space Industry Careers Showcase.

We were blown away with how popular our immersive experience was, with people of all ages. Including Minister for Defence & Space Industries Chris Picton MP.

We met so many wonderful young people interested in a career in Space, picking only 6 students for our work experience program is going to be very tough.

Thanks again to Defence SA for hosting us and to Craig and the team for supporting our experience on the big screen of the MOC. We're hoping to take this experience on the road and might be coming to your city very soon!
