RUNNING TECHNIQUE CORRECTIONS

FIRSTLY: We as coaches must give our runners a break. Only work on one thing at a time.

This young fella is in arm "bootcamp".

WHAT'S THE PROBLEM:
😀 Arms are flat out or too far behind him.
😃 His arms and legs have a different rhythm.

HOW TO FIX THIS:
😄 Bootcamp = I take his "arms off him".
😆 He will be doing heaps or drills that will give him "dead arms" or "heavy arms"
😁 I'm a massive fan of a soccer ball at the chest. He needs to be mindeful of the ball remaining in the front amd centre of the body. Arms tucked back and he needs to try and not have them move.
🙃 I also like "zombie arms". Arms out in front and not bouncing up and down.
😉 When the runner has had enough, change the drill. There is no need to fry him. That's not fun.
😀 Metronome and rhythm sets.
