🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ INTERSCHOOL ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 2026 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

What a fantastic day we had on Friday as Georgetown State School welcomed students from Croydon State School, Mt Surprise State School, Forsayth State School and SDE for our annual Interschool Athletics Carnival.

The day was filled with outstanding performances, great sportsmanship and plenty of school spirit as students competed across a range of track and field events. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, celebrating successes and giving their best effort throughout the day.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Georgetown State School were crowned Overall Champions on the day, as well as taking home both the Ball Games Trophy and the Relay Trophy. Congratulations to all of our students for their efforts and teamwork in achieving these fantastic results.

Congratulations also to Mt Surprise State School, who were deserved recipients of the Spirit of the Carnival Trophy for their enthusiasm, encouragement and positive attitude throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the Georgetown State School P&C for once again providing a fantastic canteen service, and to all of the parents, carers and family members who came along to support the students.

Finally, thank you to the staff and students from our cluster schools for making the journey to Georgetown. These carnivals provide such a valuable opportunity for our students to come together, compete, build friendships and strengthen the connections between our school communities.

2026 Interhouse Athletics Carnival 🏃🏼‍♂️

🎬✨ Yesterday, our Kangaroos class had a fantastic time working with Courtney from Shake & Stir Theatre Co during an exciting Media Arts workshop!

Students explored the world of stop-motion animation, learning how frame by frame, imagination comes alive. Using everyday objects, they worked collaboratively in teams to create their own inventive mini-movies and proudly presented their creations at the end of the session.

It was wonderful to see our students using their creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork to bring their ideas to life. There were plenty of laughs, lots of learning and some very impressive animations produced along the way!
