๐๐ Have You Fueled Your Future Yet? ๐๐
As the end of the financial year approaches, there's one mission many people forget to launch.
Their super contribution.
โจ For those looking to boost their retirement savings and potentially claim a tax deduction:
๐ก Contributions need to be received by the super fund by 30 June
๐ Processing times can vary, so last-minute launches can miss the window
๐ The earlier the contribution arrives, the smoother the landing at tax time
Because a contribution still travelling through space on 30 June may not reach its destination in time.
A little planning now could help support both your future orbit and your current tax position.
Fuel the future.
Plot the course.
Stay in orbit.
๐๐ Every Mission Needs a Flight Log ๐๐
Planning to claim motor vehicle expenses this tax season?
If you're intending to use the logbook method, you need to be tracking the journey.
A valid logbook needs to cover a continuous 12-week period and accurately record your business and private travel.
โจ Before EOFY arrives:
๐ก Start recording the flight path
๐ฃ๏ธ Track business and private kilometres
๐ Keep records supporting your claim
๐ Make sure the journey is properly documented
Without a valid logbook, you may be limited to the cents per kilometre method.
For 2025-26, that method is capped at 5,000 business kilometres, with a maximum deduction of $4,400.
If your business travel is significant, maintaining a proper flight log may allow a larger claim, provided the records support it.
Because when tax time arrives, Mission Control won't accept an estimated flight path.
Track the journey.
Record the flight path.
Stay prepared for tax season.
โ๏ธ๐ฅ Is the Machinery Tax Ready? ๐ฅโ๏ธ
The end of the financial year is approaching.
And before the books head off for inspection, it's worth taking a closer look at the machinery behind the numbers.
โจ A few things to check:
๐ฉ Are transactions coded correctly?
๐ Are the records up to date?
๐งพ Have all income and expenses been captured?
โ๏ธ Are there any loose ends still sitting in the engine room?
Because EOFY preparation isn't just about meeting deadlines.
It's about making sure the machinery is running smoothly before the final review begins.
The earlier issues are identified, the easier they are to resolve.
If you're unsure whether everything is ready for year-end, now is a great time to have a conversation with your accountant.
Inspect the machinery.
Check the gauges.
