Successful outcomes
On 27 March 2019, our principal, Mr Mayek, successfully defended a “recovery claim” against our client by his previous solicitors. Mr Mayek successfully argued that this was not a recovery claim but a costs dispute which should be assessed by the Local Regulatory Authority before the plaintiff may have the right to recover. The Magistrates Court agreed and ordered for the transfer of the matter to the Victorian Civil & Administrative Appeals Tribunal’s Legal Services List for a costs assessment.
