Usually covered in dust, worn through long days on site, washed over and over and still holding up - our Classic Tees on the job site are truly tried and tested by the team at

We recently spent some time with the crew at their latest build in Broken Head, NSW. We learnt how Guy and his team take a thoughtful and progressive approach to construction through natural materials, healthy homes and quality craftsmanship - a new generation of building grounded in care, longevity and doing things properly.

Their days are often labour intensive and sweaty, so what they wear needs to breathe, move well and of course, last.

Tees that don’t easily stain, don’t lose shape after regular washing, and still feel as comfortable months down the track as they did the day they were bought.

What we loved most about the partnership with the crew is that their approach to building mirrors the way we think about garments here at Aus Stitch - natural materials, integrity in the process, and quality that truly lasts.

Thoughtfully constructed builds. Thoughtfully constructed tees 🤝

As the years tick on from Australia’s industrial boom - when textile manufacturing was once one of the country’s leading industries - it’s surprising how difficult it’s become to find photos of the factories, workers, and everyday moments that made up garment production during these times.

An industry so often framed as unglamorous, temporary, or not worth documenting somehow became one of the most under recorded parts of Australian history. Yet behind it were thousands of warm hands, long days, generational skills, migrant families, machinists, cutters, knitters, pressers, patternmakers and makers who helped shape the cities we live in today.

At Australian Stitch, we make a conscious effort to know and honour the roots of the industry we stand within today. We document our own factory floor, local knitting mills and dyehouses so that one day, people won’t have to search so hard to see the Australians behind textile manufacturing.

These photos matter not just for nostalgia - but as proof that making things here existed, mattered, and still does ❤️
