This National Diabetes Week, we’re shining a light on the importance of diabetes awareness during pregnancy.

Gestational diabetes is one of the most common pregnancy complications, affecting many expectant mothers. The good news is that with early detection, regular monitoring, and the right support, most women go on to have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies.

Routine screening during pregnancy helps identify gestational diabetes, even if you feel completely well. If diagnosed, our team will work closely with you to develop a personalised management plan, which may include healthy eating, gentle exercise, blood glucose monitoring, and, where needed, medication.

At our practice, we’re committed to supporting every woman throughout her pregnancy journey with compassionate, evidence-based care.

This extraordinary handmade fingerprint tree was lovingly created by one of our beautiful families, Lauren and Adam, whose five precious children have all been welcomed into the world with the care of Dr Len and Dr Tom.

Each leaf fingerprint represents one of their children—Sienna, Georgette, Aston, Halle and baby Smith—creating a thriving tree.

It is impossible to put into words what gifts like this mean to us. Being invited into the lives of families during one of the most important chapters of their story is an extraordinary privilege.

To then watch those families grow—from first babies to fifth babies—is something we never take for granted.
