Paralpi by Zaachariaha Fielding — the official poster for National NAIDOC Week July 5–12, 2026.

“Zaachariaha Fielding is a proud Yankunytjatjara man from the APY Lands in South Australia and is widely recognised as one of the country’s leading contemporary First Nations artists and musicians. Known internationally through the acclaimed music duo Electric Fields, his work brings together language, sound, visual storytelling and culture in deeply powerful and contemporary ways.

Paralpi reflects movement, energy and continuity, carrying the stories of Ancestors forward while celebrating the creativity and cultural power of the next generation. Rich in colour and symbolism, the artwork speaks to the enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over the past 50 years of NAIDOC and beyond.”

CARE AT THE THRESHOLD: 4-part series exploring grief, loss, dying and care through lived experience, contemporary knowledge and practical wisdom.

As a partner in this workshop series, the Death Literacy Institute contributes expertise in death and grief literacy, compassionate communities and community-based approaches to care, while sharing MIECAT’s commitment to reflective practice, relational inquiry and meaning-making.

Together, we create opportunities for participants to engage creatively with experiences of loss, care and mortality, cultivating greater confidence, connection and capacity for living alongside life’s endings and transitions.

Participants will:

Increase confidence and language around grief, loss, dying and care.

Develop reflective capacity when accompanying others through change, death, illness or bereavement.

Build practical end-of-life literacy and awareness of resources, frameworks, rituals and options.

Learn from lived experience, professional practice and contemporary conversations in the field.

Explore their own relationship to mortality and grief in a thoughtful and supported way.

Strengthen relational and trauma-informed skills relevant across many professions and everyday life.
