Developmental leaps đ´đđđ
These leaps are a very important and normal part of our babies growth! Their brains are going wild and are working overtime learning so much at once!
They can effect babyâs mood and behaviour which in turn unfortunately can affect ours too.
This can be a time where a lot of mixed emotions are happening for everyone involved. From proud happy moments to a lot of frustration for some.
Your baby will go through multiple developmental leaps over the years and this can temporarily disrupt their sleep especially in the early years as there is so much going on.
These leaps are due to learning/ practicing a new skill such as:
- walking
- Crawling
- Rolling
- Sitting up
- Speech
- Mastering a new activity or game
Signs your baby is going through a leap can be Increased crying and fussiness, waking during the night and wanting to play, change in sleep patterns, frequent catnapping, & resisting naps and bedtime.
If your baby is going through a leap here are some things we can do to help during this time:
- stay consistent with routine where you can
- Offer extra support and reassurance
- Opt for early bedtime if naps havenât gone to plan
- Change up the environment and pop them in the car or pram for a nap
- Maintain healthy boundaries around sleep and whatâs expected.
- Take it easy and just go with it, ride the wave and remember to ask for and accept help! You need to look after yourself too Mumma!
If you would like some assurance and assistance putting your baby to sleep, send me an email or DM and we can go from there. Remember itâs okay to not be okay and itâs okay to ask for help! We are all parents supporting each other through our own journeys and are in this together! đđśđ¤

The 18 month sleep regression>>>>
Is your baby around 18 months old and struggling to sleep easily?
Are you sick and tired of trying to figure out why the heck their not sleeping?
Hereâs why⌠đ
Your baby is most likely going through the 18 month old sleep regression which can be a tricky time for everyone involved! Your tired of not getting enough sleep and so is your baby. They might be cat napping and waking up after a sleep cycle, they may be waking during the night wanting to play, they may be distressed from being stuck in an overtired cycle and the only way they will fall asleep is on you Mama. I get it. I have been in your shoes. Itâs a hard slog. But it doesnât have to be! It can be fixed and so much easier than you are probably thinking. Thatâs why I do what I do. To help mums like you get your sleep and sanity back. To have a life again. Because letâs face it, we canât be the parent we desire to be if we are sleep deprived. It just doesnât work.
Here are some signs your baby may be going through a regression:
â¨wanting to play and practise their new skills in their sleep space
⨠fussiness
⨠frequent night wakes
â¨short cat napping
â¨struggling to fall asleep in their own sleep space
These are all very common signs that your baby may show when going through a regression. Here is how we can help assist them through this stage easier and smoother đđ
â¨give lots of opportunities during awake times to practice their new skills (eg. Walking, pulling self up onto furniture, talking ect)
⨠stay consistent where possible with routine- they love to know whatâs next and to have a bit of structure!
⨠your baby may be needing to drop from 2 naps to 1- trial this to see if it helps
Do you think you could be going through a regression with your bubs? Let me know in the comments⌠Tag a mumma who you think could need some support and it currently going through this. Or if you are reading this and your ticking every box I have just discussed? Then donât delay your lack of sleep anymore, send me a DM and letâs get started to a healthier sleeping life!
