I made a mistake.

I didn't follow my better judgement when I started my nutrition consultation business last year and took the wrong path with my marketing approach as a result. I made a mistake, but I'm going to fix it.

From today, I’m shifting away from centralised social media marketing and prioritising offline and personalised promotional activities. This is a big part of running my business in a way that is authentic to me. I appreciate that it won’t be for everyone, but I am sure that it will resonate with many.

The solution that I have developed is a grass roots, community-based initiative - I've named it ‘Wellness Unplugged’. This project is grounded in meaningful, face-to-face conversations with owners of local businesses that contribute positively to the quality of life of their community, harnessing the power of storytelling as an output. It prioritises genuine one-on-one connection over homogenous digital social networking. It is part cross-promotion activity and part passion project.

So DON'T like or follow me on Facebook, Instagram or any other social media site. This will only add to the digital noise in your life and, in support of your wellbeing, I don't wish to contribute to that.

As we round the corner of a brand new 12 month period, many of us are thinking about our goals for the year. This can seem daunting and even a little restrictive - what if we change our minds? What if our circumstances change? Worse still, what if we fail to achieve these goals?!

The anticipatory guilt and shame can be enough to stop us from meaningfully considering what we want to achieve.

I prefer to determine what my values-based INTENTIONS are for the year before even considering specific goals.

❔HOW do I want to achieve my goals?
❔HOW do I want to move through life over the next 12 months?
❔HOW do I want my legacy to have been reshaped by this time next year?

This way, no matter what my tangible achievements are, I can be confident that I have met them by staying true to the values and philosophies that are most important to me. And isn't that what really matters at the end of the day?

This year, I plan to focus on my very deeply held value of authenticity. Many of you who know me probably already think that this quality goes uncompromised in my life, but I will be taking it to the next - more proactive - level, largely through my business.

I invite you to adopt the same reframing of thought.
