🚛💙 What an incredible day at our Road Safety Week “Watch That Truck” Heavy Vehicle Awareness Safety Event at Edmonton PCYC!

We would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the event to help make it such a fantastic success.

The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many people sharing that they now have a much greater understanding of the safety challenges faced by heavy vehicle drivers every day on our roads. Even more importantly, many said the event will positively influence the way they share the road with trucks and buses moving forward. Together, we are helping create a safer road environment for all road users across FNQ. 🙌

We were thrilled with the amazing turnout, welcoming BTC students and volunteer mentors from all four BTC sites, along with employment groups from communities including Yarrabah. A special shoutout goes to the group from Mossman who made a huge effort to attend the day — your support was greatly appreciated!

It was fantastic to see the four FNQ BTC sites — Edmonton, Cairns, Yarrabah and Mossman — come together as one team to deliver such a successful and impactful community event.

A very special thank you also goes to all of the volunteers who assisted throughout the day, as well as Heather and Promise from the Youth and Communities team, who kept everyone well fed and hydrated with the sausage sizzle. 🌭👏 Your teamwork and support played a massive role in making the day run so smoothly.

🎉 Congratulations to Patricia Johnson, the winner of the student draw for a free driving lesson from Edmonton BTC! Patricia has already shown incredible dedication and determination towards achieving her driver’s licence, making her a very deserving recipient.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and supported the event. We are already excited and planning to make next year’s event even bigger and better!
