⚠️ Tropical Cyclone Watch – Darwin Region ⚠️

A Cyclone Watch has been issued for the Darwin area, meaning gales or stronger winds are possible within the next 1–2 days.
Now’s the time to get Cyclone Ready and stay tuned for updates from the Emergency Response Team.

As we are now in a Cyclone Watch, we are unable to place new cover or make changes to existing policies.

What you should do now:

🏡 Secure Your Property

Tie down or store any loose outdoor items (or fill large items with water to weigh them down).

Re-check your yard for anything that could become a hazard in strong winds.

🚗 Prep Your Vehicles

Fill up your fuel tank.

Top up any jerry cans if you have them.

🧰 Emergency Kit Check

Make sure your kit is stocked.

Fill water containers—aim for 3L per person per day for at least 72 hours.

👨‍👩‍👦 Household Safety Plan

Confirm everyone knows the strongest part of your home and what to do if a warning or evacuation is issued.

📻 Stay Informed

Keep tuned to local radio/TV/Social Media for the latest updates and warnings.

This October, the MGA Darwin team is taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

From immunisations, health checkups, referrals or management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular illness and general lifestyle issues, the RFDS primary health services mean there is regular medical assistance when needed for people living and working in remote, rural and regional communities.

In remote and outback Australia, where populations are small and spread out, access to these services is limited. This lack of access contributes to up to three times the prevalence of avoidable chronic illnesses. The RFDS works to overcome this, providing a comprehensive range of health services to these communities.
