POACHERS! Are they for freakin real! Just when I thought I couldn’t be more outraged at the death of Matgai, turns out I can be!
NSW park rangers were everywhere when the park was closed. stopping cars, turning them away, escorting supporters out within minutes of them leaving there cars, using body cams, recording. When American journalist, Ashley Avis got out of her car and was filming on her phone they got to her within minutes of her doing that! But amazingly they totally missed a “poacher” who drove in, got out of their car with a bloody big gun, shooting Matagi and his daughter dead, then getting back to their car and leaving. NSW park rangers didn’t see a thing or hear the gunshots? Amazing! Oh come on, how stupid do you really think we are.
The invasive species council, isn’t a government body but a bunch of lobbyists who rely on donations, are a registered charity and government hand outs in the form of fees for services and “small” grants which apparently make up 10% of their budget. Jack Gough wife is a senior advisor to Penny Sharp! Conflict! Penny Sharp apparently attended their wedding! Conflict! Jack Gouch holds no official education in the area he is sprouting his lies about, no degree, nothing. He is a master of spin, using the word, feral, allows people to disconnect, he calls brumby supporters “a small but loud minority of activists”. I honestly don’t think that over 220 thousand people sighing petitions is small and I for one am not an activist, I’m just a person with a voice and a heart!
I was going to share my finished artwork of him last week then I saw the photos of him shot. I had a buyer however, I don’t think I can part with it, he will only be available in print. My heart is broken, I keep looking at my drawing that I put such joy into and now it is a tribute piece. its on my desk easel. I don’t seem to be able to stop crying, I spent hours, studied every tiny detail of him. Totally conflicting emotions, I’m so proud of this one but now also so upset.
Matagi’s death will not be in vain, demand justice for him and the other brutally shot brumbies. Spread the word! Share the hell out of it, use the hashtag.
