: The Queensland Premier is urging people north of Brisbane to Bundaberg to be on high alert for more severe weather later today.

Annastacia Palaszczuk says people from northern parts of Moreton Bay Regional Council to the Wide Bay should collect their children from school.

She says they are safe but parents should get them when they can in those regions.

The Bureau of Meteorology says the atmospheric conditions are ‘dangerous’ and ‘potentially life threatening’.

Some schools around Brisbane are deciding to close and notifying parents.
