Blocks, loose parts, dress-ups, play silks, little figurines… the kinds of toys that can become something different every single day.

A tower one minute. A zoo the next. A birthday cake by afternoon.

Open-ended play gives children space to imagine, problem-solve, experiment and create in their own way - without needing flashing lights, batteries or instructions.

Sometimes fewer rules really does mean more play ...

We often hear that play is how children make sense of the world.

But really, it's how they make sense of their world. 💛

The world as they experience it. Their interests, their questions, their friendships, their challenges, their big ideas and everyday discoveries.

That's why no two children play exactly the same way.

One child might spend an hour lining up toy cars. Another might create an elaborate dinosaur adventure. Another might build the same tower over and over again just to see what happens.

And that's the point.

Play isn't about doing things the "right" way. It's about giving children the freedom to explore, experiment, imagine and learn in ways that make sense to them.

Because when children play, they're not just having fun. They're figuring out who they are and how they fit into the world around them.
