Australian Dinosaur Day! 🦖🇦🇺

On this very day in 1903, William Ferguson, a geologist surveying Victoria’s Bass Coast, discovered the first documented Australian dinosaur fossil - Cape Patterson Claw.

This claw is now believed to have been a claw of a large megaraptoran, similar to Australovenator, our “Southern Hunter” of Queensland (and probably the deadliest Aussie you’ve never met🫣).

What an un-fossil-gettable weekend! 🦖🥚

We’re still buzzing from the energy of 'Dino Egg Hunt' last week. Seeing the museum filled with so many eager explorers—of all ages—was the perfect way to celebrate the Easter long weekend.

The National Dinosaur Museum would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us. Whether you found the Golden Egg or just enjoyed a day out with the Lucy the Raptor, we hope you made memories that will last a lifetime!
