Puppies are well on their way to being potty trained. The video clip shows the overnight situation. No mess inside, all poops outside.
Puppies have 24/7 access to the outside area and naturally start to do their business away from their bed and feeding areas. It’s only when they are faced with a closed door that puppies are more inclined to have an ‘accident’ in the house.
This is why everything you read says to take some time off work when you first bring a puppy home. You need to be around to watch and learn your puppies habits, you’ll soon pick up on their cues and hightail them outside to an appropriate toileting area.

*please note - this is what their area looks like in the morning. I do of course clean the enclosure throughout the day.

This is probably one of the most important pieces of training to do with a new puppy.
