"Understanding Palestine" in Canberra

Yousef Alreemawi Averroes Centre of Arab Culture; one of Australia's leading experts in Arabic language and Palestinian history, is bringing his popular series "Understanding Palestine" to Canberra for the first time. The talk is titled: Mahmoud Darwish: Dwelling Into His Poems, and will be about the life and legacy of the iconic Palestinian poet (1941- 2008).

The talk will include readings in English of translated excerpts from Darwish's poems, as well as live Arabic music by Yousef and Liam O'Connell.
