If there’s one thing apart from developing unwavering self discipline that I try to teach my team, it’s to understand the traits of a loser.
The negative self talk, the deflection of blame, the lack of personal accountability, the excuses, the entitlement without action, gossip and the lack of self awareness to name just a few, are all signs that imminent failure is just around the corner.
We all experience and exhibit these traits at some time, the key is being able to identify them and use them as the trigger to stop, recalibrate, refocus and remind ourselves of our greater goals and our purpose.
It’s important to learn how to win and to succeed, but not at the expense of what it takes to fail and to lose.
