Ever noticed how two people can say almost the same thing, yet get completely different reactions?

Most people think communication starts when we open our mouths. In reality, it starts much earlier.

It begins when we frame the message. What do I mean by that?

We unconsciously create a context around what we're about to say, and that context influences how others interpret our message.

Think about it.

If you introduce feedback as a problem, people tend to become defensive.

If you introduce it as an opportunity for growth, the same feedback is often received very differently.
The words may be similar.

The frame changes everything.

We do this every day without even realising it.
We frame situations as threats or opportunities.
We frame ourselves as confident or uncertain.
We frame ideas as costs or investments.
We frame conversations before the conversation has even started.

This becomes especially important when you're:

✅ Giving a presentation
✅ Having a difficult conversation
✅ Pitching an idea
✅ Leading a meeting
✅ Influencing a decision
✅ Speaking on stage

The best communicators understand that people don't just respond to the message. They respond to the meaning surrounding the message.

That's why framing is such a powerful communication skill.

Whether you want a key point to stand out, navigate a challenging discussion more effectively, or deliver a memorable keynote, it all starts with the right frame.

If you'd like to learn practical framing techniques and how to apply them in public speaking and everyday communication, consider joining our upcoming training.
The message matters.

The frame often determines what people hear.
