I’ve been heavily involved in recruitment lately, and I truly enjoy the process, however, I’ve noticed some surprising trends. There’s a clear lack of effort from many candidates across all levels, from administrative to senior roles. Why aren’t applicants including cover letters or even a simple note? Why don’t they address the specific ad or company they’re applying to? And why aren’t they taking the time to read the job ad thoroughly? Making these adjustments can make a candidate stand out among the 300 applications (yes, 300!) we’re receiving. In saying all of this - there are some absolute gems out there too - incredible applications, where the intention is crystal clear. It’s as crazy as it is rewarding that is for sure!
