💛 Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and connected.

As part of our Child Safe Standards series, we asked the children at Seedlings:

“How do your friends help you feel safe?”

Their responses reminded us that, for children, safety is often found in the little things…

💛 Giving hugs.
💛 Using kind words.
💛 Caring for one another.
💛 Helping a friend.
💛 Knowing someone is there to support you.

These moments may seem small, but they help build friendships, belonging and trust—creating an environment where children feel confident to play, learn and grow together.

Sometimes, the simplest answers remind us of the biggest lessons. 🌱

🌿 Learning beyond the playground…

Our Kindergarten Tigers have recently begun exploring the large grassy paddock beside our centre as part of a Bush Kindy inspired experience, and it has quickly become a favourite!

With more space to move, explore and connect with nature, the children are embracing opportunities for child-led learning, imaginative play and discovery. They are making decisions about the resources they’d like to take, choosing how they’d like to play, and learning to care for both the equipment and one another.

These meaningful experiences help foster independence, confidence, resilience and a genuine connection with the natural world.

Because some of the richest learning happens when children are given the time, space and freedom to explore. 🌱💛

Yeehaw! 🤠 🐑

Our Kindergarten children had an amazing morning at Paradise Country, where they watched sheep mustering, whip cracking, billy tea brewing, met some incredible animals, and even danced with Shaun the Sheep!

A day full of new experiences, hands-on learning, and plenty of stories to tell! 🚌🐨🦘

Every child has the right to feel safe💛

But what does feeling safe actually mean?

Children and young people tell us that safety is about more than physical safety. It’s about feeling welcomed, included, respected, secure, and accepted for who you are.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be exploring the Child Safe Standards and what they look like in practice, while continuing to create environments where children feel safe, supported, and heard every day.
