2️⃣ There are more than 500 known species of sharks, ranging from the mighty great white to the adorable dwarf lanternshark. Each species has unique characteristics and plays a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems.

3️⃣ Contrary to popular belief, most shark species are not a threat to humans. They play a crucial role as top predators, regulating the populations of their prey and maintaining the health of the entire food chain.

4️⃣ Unfortunately, sharks are facing numerous threats, including overfishing, habitat destruction, and climate change. As apex predators, their decline can have cascading effects on the entire oceanic ecosystem.

5️⃣ Conservation efforts are crucial to protect sharks and their habitats. Supporting sustainable fishing practices, reducing plastic waste, and advocating for the establishment of marine protected areas are just a few ways we can make a difference.
