ECU repaired on Mercedes w166. Weak burnt out traces found on the earth circuits for several sensors. The vehicle had logged fault codes for sensor supply, and multiple sensors "short to positive" - or in other words, the signals were stuck at 5V due to a lack of earth supply.

This is a common issue on the v6 and v8 petrol variants due to the ECU being mounted on top of the engine, causing long term heat damage.

This particular example may have had external factors leading to the damage, as the camshaft sensors had been rewired incorrectly following a connector repair for oil intrusion. All wires were corrected, and after repairing the ECU, two more sensors were found dead.
