Have you tried release weights before? I love the ones from Fishsaverpro and we’ve filmed a quick tutorial for our new course „offshore opportunities“ today. Quite often you see me using a barotrauma needle in my past videos but these release weights are great way to really make sure the fish you need to release gets back down safe and sound! 12/11/2025

A huge thank you to Ryan and Karen for featuring FishSaverPro in their latest video ans as part of their new offshore fishing course. 🙏

These two legends have given so much to the Australian fishing community over the years — through education, training, and a deep passion for sustainable fishing and marine conservation. Their support means a great deal to us.

In the USA, after thousands of filmed descents and follow-up studies, results have shown that using descending devices like FishSaverPro can achieve over 80% recovery rates, with predator or shark strikes at less than 1%.
After thousands of filmed descents and follow-up studies, the proof is now beyond question — descending works.
The case for using a descending device like FishSaverPro is absolutely clear:
This means more fish survive release , fewer sharks are drawn to boats by struggling fish at the surface or trying to swim back down , and everyone contributes to healthier reefs and stronger fisheries and decent fishing quotas.

You only need around 20% of the fish’s weight to descend safely — so a 1kg fish only needs about 200g of weight.
The most critical depth zone is that first 10 metres, where pressure doubles and the swim bladder size halves. By the time a fish reaches 30 metres, the bladder is reduced to about 25% of its surface volume, as it descends it recovers quickly and can swim away strongly.

Every safe release helps protect and boost the numbers of our reef species, supports future generations of anglers, and reduces shark and porpoise interaction near boats. 💙

Just want to give a big thanks to all those that have supported our small family business in buying our Fish descending devices aka release weights.
We have supplied well over 15000 rigs in the USA through Amazon and they are also available here in Australia.
They are light years ahead of those being promotted in Australia and work on high or low sided boats
We also have a cracker product for you to put a ribbon on and give to your favourite fishing legend.
Why is our Fishsaverpro so good
You easily add or remove weights to travel or depending on the fish size.
Rule of thumb is you only need 20% of the fishes weight to descend so a kilo or 2 lb fish only needs 200gms or 6ozs of weight to get it down.
Avoid a missile in your boat with rough waters or winching a 48 ounce weight up from 100 meters unnecessarily.
Quality product all materials marine grade and top quality designed to last a lifetime...you can leave it in your will to your son.
In the USA fish descending is mandatory for fish caught atdepth and suffering from barotrauma in all states (except Florida who also allow venting) and because of this the suppliers have made sure they are easy to use and work well.
Would be glad if you took a look and gve us some feedback, or even better posted a video of your experiences.

Take care, Tight lines and have a brilliant 2025.
