We pause to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation.

Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) is a critical control point in any major refurbishment program — ensuring component condition is clearly understood before further engineering decisions are made.

This 12LN21 Nickel Lined Casing underwent a structured Strip and Assessment process in our workshop. Following disassembly, the casing was blasted internally and externally, leak tested, and prepared for detailed inspection in accordance with client specifications.

The NDE scope included:
• PT (Dye Penetrant Testing) on all nickel-lined components
• MT (Magnetic Particle Testing) on carbon steel areas
• UT (Ultrasonic Testing) to verify casing thickness

All testing was performed to required standards, with results compiled into a comprehensive NDE report identifying compliance and any areas requiring attention.

A disciplined inspection phase like this reduces uncertainty, supports informed repair strategies, and ensures refurbishment work proceeds on verified data — not assumptions.

At Berg Engineering, quality assurance is not a checkpoint. It is embedded in every stage of the process.
