I've been thinking a lot lately about the little things that help us feel like ourselves again.
For me, one of those things used to be reading.
Before life became busy and my mind became full, I would lose myself in books for hours. It was one of the few places where my nervous system could truly exhale. No notifications. No endless scrolling. Just quiet.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped making time for it.
So I'm bringing it back.
From today, I'll be sharing Bloom Book Club – books that inspire me, teach me, comfort me or simply remind me to slow down. Some will be about the nervous system, health and personal growth. Others will simply be beautiful stories that help us escape for a little while, (and of course a healthy dose of s**t 😉).
Because healing isn't just about supplements, food and appointments.
Sometimes healing looks like making a cup of tea, finding a sunny spot, opening a good book and giving your nervous system permission to rest.
I originally bought this book because of the front cover (yep, I know but I did). I love proteas. But this booked stayed with me long after I closed it. I still often think about it even though I finished it months ago. Highly recommend, particularly if you like flowers.

You can be "fine" and still be running on stress.
Many of us become so used to being busy, productive and constantly switched on that we stop noticing how exhausted our nervous systems really are.
A dysregulated nervous system doesn't always look like a breakdown.
Sometimes it looks like:
• Never being able to relax
• Feeling guilty when you rest
• Always thinking about the next thing
• Waking up tired
• Feeling wired but exhausted
The goal isn't just to get through the day.
It's to feel calm, present and safe in your own body.
Because there is a difference between functioning and flourishing.
