Today, 23 June, is International Women in Engineering Day (INWED).

INWED is a global awareness campaign celebrated annually to celebrate the achievements of women in the engineering field. One of the goals of the day is to encourage more young women to pursue careers in engineering.

At Hofmann Engineering, we have many women with engineering degrees and backgrounds.

In a quick survey of some of the women at our Perth location, we have women with engineering degrees including Masters of Applied Electronics Engineering, Bachelor of Telecommunication Engineering, Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Masters of Professional Engineering (Mechanical) and Bachelor of Civil Engineering.

Engineering really is as diverse as you can imagine and really is an exciting field. Young women should definitely consider one of the many engineering areas for their career choice.

Look at this hoist gearcase which we recently shipped to one of our Queensland customers. 😍

Beside the quality engineering, what you don’t see is that it’s a team effort, with our Perth team creating all the internal gearing, to fit inside this fantastic looking gearcase, which was manufactured by the Hofmann Engineering team in Bendigo, Victoria.

The gearbox, built for a Komatsu 4100 Electric Rope Shovel, is another great example of various Hofmann Engineering teams in diverse locations, working together for the best outcomes for our customers.
