Excited to share that I was invited to be a guest on the Mortgage Professional Australia podcast to talk about the importance of customer retention.
During our chat, I shared some of my top tips:
✅️ Don't forget that keeping your current customers happy is just as important as bringing in new ones. Especially during tough times, it's important to provide value by educating, nurturing, and offering solutions to their challenges.
✅️ Brokers shouldn't wait for lenders to offer incentives to retain current clients. Instead, they should proactively seek out and negotiate for the best deals on behalf of their clients.
✅️ Your existing client base is a goldmine of opportunities. While it's important to attract new clients, don't overlook the potential for new business from your current database.
✅️ As brokers, we have a responsibility to service our existing book of business. That's why we receive trail commissions.
✅️ To stay on top of the latest solutions available, make sure you're utilising your panel and staying up-to-date on the various mainstream lenders as well as specialist options.
🤝 Collaborate with other service providers and connect your clients with services they may need, such as investment property advice, estate planning, and insurance. This not only helps your clients, but also makes them more likely to stick with you.
💖 To build stronger relationships and create customers for life, brokers should focus on the human aspect of the relationship and be less transactional.
Remember that building trust and rapport takes time and effort, but it's worth it in the long run.
