New mix for Crack Magazine. I decided to challenge myself by creating a mix of soundtracks from some of my favourite sci-fi films.

I was attempting to find a thread across recurring motifs that I hear in this collection of OSTs that are from both past and present. Ethereal alien textures, post-human voices, unnerving strings, mechanical percussion, celestial synths and outer-dimensional sound design. I’m inspired by how these elements contribute to the otherworldly realms of these films, creating a dynamic tension between sounds derived from nature, man and machine.

Lux Aeterna LP is finally out today on UIQ in its final form - digitally and also physical vinyl via Boomkat.com (300 copies). For the artwork I asked Wei Huang to create a pattern inspired by the shape of neumes (early notation) - thank you Wei for this beautiful design.
