It’s a day to start conversations, reduce stigma, reach out for support — and connect with our communities.
This year’s theme, Connect with your community, highlights the importance of belonging to places where we feel safe, seen, and heard.

October is Mental Health Month! This year's theme is Connecting When it Counts. It aims to remind us that timely conversations about our mental wellbeing can make all the difference, so reach out to your friends and family, and share the connection! PsychMed aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by encouraging these conversations, and normalising discussions about our mental health during significant moments. The Relapse Prevention Program is a group therapy that runs once a week facilitated by a psychologist. It is designed to assist your efforts in maintaining abstinence, or complement one-on-one therapy if you have recently been through withdrawal or inpatient detox from alcohol or drugs. Our next group begins on the 3rd of October and there are spots available. Medicare rebates can be obtained through a referral from a GP or psychiatrist under the Commonwealth Better Access scheme to psychological services Mental Health Care Plan.
