Author, storyteller and former Rotary Youth Exchange student, Hannah Kent, was our special guest at Rotary Adelaide today at Adelaide Oval.

Hannah captivated members and guests with reflections on her remarkable journey from a teenage Rotary Youth Exchange student in Iceland to becoming an internationally acclaimed author.

Drawing on experiences that inspired her bestselling novel Burial Rites, Hannah spoke about the profound impact of cultural immersion, belonging, identity and the idea of “home” — themes explored in her latest memoir, Always Home, Always Homesick.

Her story is a powerful reminder of how Rotary Youth Exchange changes lives, broadens horizons and builds lasting connections across cultures and continents.
