For National Reconciliation Week, we’re introducing Ninti One’s RAP Working Group. Meet Eliza and Kate! 👋

⭐ Eliza’s reflection
‘As a non-Indigenous Australian, to me reconciliation is taking active steps to learn about our First Nations peoples and cultures, and change the systems modern Australia is built upon that diminish the authority and opportunities of First Nations peoples. We all have the chance and the responsibility to engage with the cultures and communities that are Indigenous to our land.

The Working Group supports Ninti to be accountable and transparent in how we make consistent, positive impacts on First Nations communities – and supports me to be more active and accountable in the way I pursue reconciliation in my day-to-day life.’

⚡ Kate’s reflection
‘Reconciliation is about acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of this land, recognising past injustices, and committing to doing better in the present and into the future. Reconciliation is a continuous journey I am proud to walk alongside my Aboriginal colleagues as I continue learning how to be a better ally.

Joining the Working Group felt like a meaningful way to give back, helping ensure reconciliation continues to be embedded in the way we work.’

National Reconciliation Week is a time to pause, reflect, listen and connect.

Across Australia, our team is marking the week in meaningful ways, including attending the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast hosted by Reconciliation South Australia in Tarntanya on Kaurna Yerta. We’re grateful to be part of these important conversations and shared moments of reflection. Take a look at some photos from this inspiring event.

Throughout the week, our team will also connect with Country and community by attending local events, joining webinars, participating in cultural and historical tours, and taking part in initiatives such as The Long Walk in Melbourne.
