Belonging starts with connection 💜

For Ahmed, finding a community helped turn a new country into a place that felt like home.

At MYSA, we create spaces where young people from multicultural backgrounds can connect, build confidence and feel supported as they navigate life in Australia ❤️

Today marks the beginning of NAIDOC Week 2026.

50 Years of Deadly isn’t just a theme, it’s a milestone that reflects fifty years of community standing strong, telling stories, creating change and making space for the next generation.

NAIDOC has always been more than a week. It’s a celebration of culture and truth-telling, honouring the people and communities who have carried it forward - not by chance, but through strength, creativity and persistence.

At MYSA, we’re grateful to work and connect on the lands of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains (Tarntanya). We recognise the ongoing leadership, knowledge and strength of First Nations peoples and we celebrate a culture that continues to shape this country in powerful ways.

🖤💛❤️

What a wonderful weekend ❤️

Tea with a Refugee brought together people from all walks of life to share conversations, enjoy live music, dance, laugh and connect over a cup of tea 🍵

From fairy floss and balloons to new friendships and meaningful conversations, it was a beautiful reminder of the power of community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their stories and helped make the event so special, and a huge thank you to City of Adelaide for helping make it possible 🌎☕

We can't wait to do it all again next year and welcome even more people to be part of this incredible community! See you there 😊
